Grown In America
Growing cannabis is no different than growing any other plant. However, you must follow certain steps in the growing process to grow top quality cannabis and achieve abundant yields. For starters, think of marijuana plants needs as similar to vegetables like tomatoes; they require rich, fertile, loamy soil, plenty of light, and regular water.
Here are the basics for growing cannabis indoors.
Choose your growing space: You can use a spare roof, a closet, or you can choose to use a grow tent. Grow tents are reasonable and you should be able to purchase one between ($100 - $200), and are perfect for a cannabis grow environment. Whatever grow area you decide to use make sure it is a reflective light area. (Mylar or Flat white paint).
Choose your grow light: Grow lights come in a variety od styles, wattages, lumens, etc. They have metal halide (MH) for vegetative stage, and high-pressure sodium (HPS) for flowering stage. The big trend now is LED grow lights; they are cooler running and easier to set up. They cover the whole color spectrum that can be adjusted to customize your grow during the vegetative, or flowering stage.
Choose your grow medium: There are many frow mediums to choose from but the most popular are soil, Coco Coir, and hydroponics. Soil is a close to mother nature as it gets, and there are many recipes out there for super soil mixes. (Growing in soil gives the buds a stronger and complex taste and smell). Coco Coir: (made from coconut husks), looks and acts like soil but is more forgiving than other grom mediums. Plants grown in coco coir are more resistant to heat, and bugs are less likely to attack plants in coco.
Hydroponics grow: Setting up hydroponics systems takes much more work than soil or coco grows, but hydroponics can give you bigger yields and faster results.
Get nutrients in your grow: If you grow with amended soil or super soil you do not need to worry about nutrients. If you grow in regular soil you want to supplement with nutrients. If you grow in coco or hydro you will need to add nutrients right from the start of your grow. Keep in mind that in the vegetative stage you need (high nitrogen). In the flowering stage you need (low nitrogen), but (high phosphorous and potassium).
Get quality seeds: You can purchase high quality cannabis seeds from the USA, Canada, Australia and the UK. Feminized seeds are most popular among growers and you can have a harvest in about 5-6 months. However, auto-flowering seeds can give you a harvest in as little as three months.
