For decades now, marijuana has been portrayed as an illegal drug to get people high, and the ones who use marijuana are just drug addicted hippie stoners looking for a way to escape reality. A simple "scare tactic," by the media, government, and pharmaceutical companies. Historic evidence reveals that people have been using cannabis since around 8,000 BCE. Earlier records show cannabis use as medicine go back to China as far back as 2,737 BCE, where Emperor Shen Nung recommended and used cannabis tea to heal a variety of ailments.

Because fewer pills are prescribed in legal medical marijuana states.
